According to a spokesman for the United Way, George Clooney’s Oscar gift bag has sold at charity auction for $45,100. The happy winner has not been identified, but the money will be used for the United Way Hurricane Response and Relief Recovery Fund.
George Clooney’s publicist told the BBC it was his custom to donate free marketing produce to charities. The gift bag, which was sold in an online auction – includes, among other items, a BlackBerry, a Kay Unger kimono and a cultured Tahitian-pearl necklace and a handwritten thank-you note from Clooney.
