The pop celebrity Jessica Simpson may have to give jewellery and a substantial amount of her earnings to estranged husband Nick Lachey, after he is reportedly seeking spousal support from Simpson. Although Jessica Simpson – who had no prenuptial agreement – has filed a petition asking the court not to give him any, Lachey has requested “miscellaneous jewellery and other personal effects”, a share of Jessica Simpson’s earnings from after the point of separation and other assets.
It seems Nick wants not only what’s his but what’s Jessica Simpson also and the court papers filed in Los Angeles on Friday are in response to Jessica Simpson’s Dec. 16 divorce filing, Lachey saying he was reserving the right to seek spousal support, even though Simpson, has asked the court not to comply. Will Jessica have to give from her jewellery and money?
The ex-celebrity couple, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey who are both rumored to be dating other people (Jessica with Adam Levine and Nick with former Miss Kentucky Elizabeth Ann Arnold), cited irreconcilable differences for the dissolution of the three-year marriage.

Nick should get one half of everything and spousal support for at least three years. He was taken advantage of. He is as responsible for Jessica’s fame as her manager/father. If not for Nick and his willingness to allow cameras into his home and marriage, no one would even know who Jessica Simpson is. Newleyweds was Nick Lachey. I can’t imagine anyone thinking that Jessica is somhow more talented or more worthy. She does have a gift… but if she had not married Nick, she would have had none of the success she has enjoyed. I wish them both well, and wish her daddy would read his Bible.
