Hip-Hop star 50 Cent – Curtis Jackson is set to star alongside Samuel L Jackson, Jessica Biel and Christina Ricci in a new film based around the war in Iraq, named ‘Home of the Brave’. Variety reports that ‘Home of the Brave’ tells the story which revolves around three soldiers who return home to the US and are unable to readjust. 50 Cent will play a returning doctor whose life begins to unravel. The shooting on the Irwin Winkler-directed movie will begin next month in Morocco before moving to Washington state. Financed by Avi Lerner’s Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla, the independent film is budgeted at $12 million.
In other Hip-Hop news 50 Cent ranked $79 million last year being the only rapper on Forbes Magazine’s money makers in music list, which was topped by Legendary band the Rolling Stones with earnings of $168 million, beating celebrities like Celine Dion ($81 million), The Dave Matthews Band ($74 million). Meanwhile MTV reports Hip-hop star 50 Cent will release his next album in the summer, on 18 July on new track Not Rich, Still Lyin’.
