R&B diva Mariah Carey, hip-hop star Kanye West and R&B celebrity Alicia Keys – with four nods each – lead the nominations for the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP) annual Image Awards, which will be presented in Los Angeles on 25 February.

The celebrities are battling for best album but also they are competing in the best song category for We Belong Together (Mariah Carey), Diamonds From Sierra Leone (Kanye West) and Unbreakable (Alicia Keys).

For best female, Mariah and Alicia will face the celebrities Blige and Toni Braxton, while on the male side hip-hop star Kanye West faces opposition from Jamie Foxx, Stevie Wonder and Kem.
