Rapper Kanye West impressed with Bush rant impact

Kanye West

Rapper Kanye West was stunned by the impact of his anti-George W Bush rant during a live Hurricane Katrina telethon in September this year. The hip-hop celebrity Kanye West slammed the US President George Bush by saying he “doesn’t care about black people”. The rapper came to that conclusion because of Bush’s slow response to the natural disaster that struck America’s Gulf coast in August.

What surprised me most was the impact of my voice on NBC. It’s just magical that I can say something that’s a popular opinion and it really has an impact. I didn’t think about Bush until the telethon. I saw him (on TV) – I’m like, ‘Wait a second, dude, that guy over there, he doesn’t care.’ But America was already headed that way. I think it was a common opinion.

Meanwhile, according to MTV news hip-hop star Kanye West will concentrate on his record label next year, following the success of his second album Late Registration.

We’ve got Consequence, which is real hip-hop, he was on (my track) Gone voices where I feel like I would be further along in my career if I had that. GLC, who rapped on Drive Slow – he’s out of Chicago, he’s on Spaceships also, and actually me and Three crazy. I got Really Doe who’s on We Major, he’s going to be a problem.

Their music is really edgy, it’s what I want to do with G.O.O.D. Music, how I like to push the envelope, style, fashion, the visuals, the videos, the instrumentation. It’s really sexy and not to just use a cliche word, but it’s that s**t, it’s that 1980s type feel.
