A court battle for Jessica Simpson branding rights

Jessica Simpson

There is a court battle over money earned from the branding rights of ‘The Dukes Of Hazzard’ star Jessica Simpson’s name, between Andrew Kirplani and Icon Licensing Group LLC.
According to IMDb.com, Jessica Simpson sold last year the rights to her name for $10-million to Andrew Kirplani, who promised to launch lines in children’s clothes, accessories, sportswear and jewellery.

Icon Licensing Group LLC – a company which markets celebrity names – claims it is owed a minimum of $180 000 commission for a deal set up shortly before the name was sold on, so the firm filed papers against Kirplani’s company.
