Mariah Carey wins Saturday night four Vibe awards: artist of the year, R&B voice of the year, best R&B song with “We Belong Together” and album of the year with The Emancipation of Mimi.
‘Whatever you’re going through in your life, don’t ever give up,’ were Mariah’s words at the Los Angeles event.
This year the show was as safe as possible after last year’s violent incident between Dr Dre and Jimmy James Johnson which ended with Johnson being stabbed. G-Unit member Young Buck will stand trial for the stabbing of Johnson, who is currently behind bars for a year after assaulting Dre as he approached the stage to collect an award last year.
