Britney Spears copyright case dismissed

Britney Spears

Britney Spears’s lawsuit claiming the pop star plagiarized her hit record ‘Sometimes’ has been dismissed by a judge in Indianapolis, Indiana. Songwriter Steve Wallance said Britney stole and copyrighted his track, originally penned in 1990, and released her version on her 1999 debut album Baby One More Time, and on 2004′s Greatest Hits: My Prerogative.

Although the lyrics of the two tracks were considered almost identical, the songwriter who claimed he wrote Britney Spear’s song ‘Sometimes’ has had his case kicked out of court. Spears’ lawyer denied rumours the two parties had reached a financial settlement.
