Renee Zellweger reportedly jumped in her “best friend” Damian Rice’s arms after seeking an annulment after five months of marriage. Just one week after she split up with her husband, Kenny Chesney, Zellweger immediately called her pal Damian for advice. It seems the Chicago actress is even planning a trip to Rice’s hometown of Kildare, Ireland, reports Daily Mirror.
Last year, Renee and Damian were rumored to be together, although the actress said they were just best friends.
Damien and Renee are very close and when her marriage fell apart, he was the obvious person to call for a shoulder to cry on. He is always very supportive of Renee but denies they are anything
more than friends.
The couple have spent hours on the phone to each other since the split and she has told friends Damien is helping her get over Kenny.Damien seems to be a very important part of her life right now and is helping her to stay strong.
She wants to get away from the hype and being in a small Irish town would be ideal. She feels very safe and comfortable there and is very close to Damien’s parents.
