Beyonce and Kelly Rowland to launch the Survivor Foundation

Beyonce

Destiny’s Child members Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland have launched a new charity foundation, the Survivor Foundation.
The singers will team with Knowles’ parents Mathew and Tina, and her sister Solange to launch the Survivor Foundation, which will provide transitional housing for hurricane evacuees in and around their Houston, Texas, hometown and also to facilitate new building construction for affected families. The Survivor Foundation has set an initial goal of securing cost-free transitional housing for 100 families by Christmas 2005.

The Foundation has already secured more than $400,000 through initial contributions from Rowland and Knowles and her family, and is seeking for more donations.
Meanwhile, Knowles’ new clothing line, The House Of Dereon, will also hand over a percentage of profits to the foundation.
