Record producer Quincy Jones, who was nominated for two music Oscars for The Color Purple in 1985 and for the film scores – In the Heat of the Night, In Cold Blood, The Italian Job and The Wiz.,wants to compose the music for 50 Cent’s debut movie.
The movie name Get Rich or Die Tryin’ is after 50 Cent’s first hit album, which since its release in 2002 has made him one of the biggest stars in the rap world. The story reflects the real life of 50 Cent, about an orphan who becomes a drug dealer and who was jailed for selling it before finding fame as a big seller rap.
Get Rich or Die Tryin’ is directed by Jim Sheridan and is due for release in the US in December, and in the UK in January. The script has been written by Terence Winter. This movie will shore be a brake through a movie career for the famous rapper 50 Cent by real name Curtis Jackson.
