Janet Jackson is currently working on a new studio album for Virgin Records. According to Terry Lewis, he and Jimmy Jam are working with Jackson on the disc. Some recording has taken place at Jermaine Dupri’s studio. Dupri is the executive producer on the disc and is president of Virgin Urban. He is also Jackson’s boyfriend.
The disc is a follow-up to Jackson’s 2004 release, Damita Jo. It has sold nearly one million copies in the U.S.
It’s the physical nature of sitting in the same room and really hashing it out. It’s like, ‘You’re not going to leave until we got a lyric,’ so it’s fun.
