Shakira named her new album Fijacion Oral 1 so she can feel compelled, because she has never got over her own oral fixation. She insists her life revolves around her mouth and her oral organ is the source of her greatest pleasures.
I never overcame the initial stage in every life, which is the oral-fixation stage. I’ve always lived through my mouth, like a person in jail lives through the window.
It’s my biggest source of pleasure: what I say, what I sing, the kisses I give, the chocolate I eat – which is a lot. My new resolution is to find pleasure everywhere, no matter how.
The word ‘oral’ is very vast, and that’s what I like about it. Through our mouths, we discover and explore the world.
