Perfume manufacturer Parlux Fragrances Inc. reported on Thursday (09 June), a 38 percent jump in fiscal fourth-quarter earnings on sales growth of new and core brands.
Net income for the quarter ended March 31 rose to $3.4 million, or 32 cents per share, from $2.5 million, or 24 cents per share, last year. Parlux said fourth-quarter sales grew 32 percent year-over-year to $25.9 million from $19.6 million.
Quarterly operating income rose to $5.5 million from nearly $4 million in the prior period.
Chairman and Chief Executive Ilia Lekach attributed sales increases to the strength of the company’s Paris Hilton fragrance – named for the celebrity hotel heiress – continued growth in the company’s core Perry Ellis brand and the recent addition of the XOXO brand to its lineup.
