The Black Eyed Peas have made a habit of showing up everywhere. From TV commercials to the Grammy Awards. But for William Adams, the Peas’ lead rapper, the omnipresence means the group has to work even harder to promote its new album, Monkey Business, out June 7 on A&M/Interscope.
When you have a whole bunch of songs on top 40 radio, there’s no mystery anymore, he says.
The new 15-track disc has gotten a strong first single, Don’t Phunk With My Heart, which is No. 3 on Billboard’s Pop 100 chart.
All these things are happening around Monkey Business, William says. Do you sit around and wait and get all selfish? … When it’s moving, you’ve got to keep moving.
