Rock star Deryck Whibley (25), and pop singer Avril Lavigne (20), had been good pals for several years and since 2004 they began dating, now they are engaged. Deryck proposed Avril over the weekend while Lavigne was finishing up the European leg of her tour. The couple lives together in a Los Angeles home they bought last year .
Publicists for both musicians confirmed the engagement.
