After four years since Angelina Jolie last spoke to her father actor Jon Voight, she has given up on recommunicating with her estranged father, because being with him makes her feel miserable and insists she doesn’t need him in her life.

I’ve never been desperate to put something back together. People disagree with this, but if you have people in your life who make you feel bad about yourself, make you cry, then get them out of your life. Be strong and focus your love elsewhere.

I’ve had some good moments with my father, and I don’t think he’s a bad person. I just think we are not a good family when we are all together. There’s far too much pain.
